Punjab Introduces New SOPs For Recovered COVID-19 Patients

Punjab has changed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for declaring COVID-19 patients as ‘recovered patients’.

Punjab Corona Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) on Monday, addressing a press talk said, as per the SOPs from now onwards double negative tests were not needed except for the healthcare workers and people living in hostels.The provincial expert advisory group coronavirus said that minimum isolation is now 10 days or 10 plus three (10+3) days without symptoms.




As per COVID-19.pk portal, Punjab has reported 576 new coronavirus cases and now there are 74,778 confirmed coronavirus patients. The health ministry’s portal said that 26,062 people have been successfully recovered from the novel COVID-19. According to the portal eight more deaths were reported from the virus, taking the total number of deaths in Punjab to 1,681.

Focal Person (Digital Media) to Chief Minister Punjab, Mashwani Azhar said that Medical Experts Advisory Group call for clinical trials, increase/decrease in daily testing numbers and reasons, pool testing and Smart Sampling Phase 2. Punjab Corona Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) said no authentic drug is authentic to cure COVID-19 patients but these drugs are only minimizing the complicities.




We have to determine that the decrease in the number of cases in Punjab is real and we have to wait for a few more days to know the exact situation, CEAG added.
